My friend’s friend told her that her job in these horrific days, since she is a poet, is to write poems. And so, I believe my job, after June 24th, 2022 is also to write, (and I did), and now, as a book editor and designer, I thought I should make a book, too, and put it out there, soon. My co-editor at Anhinga Press, Kristine Snodgrass, was as excited about the book as I am. Yay! The book was published by Anhinga Press. Our vision for RUMORS SECRETS & LIES: POEMS ABOUT PREGNANCY, ABORTION & CHOICE—
We published these narrative poems (also prose poems, flash fiction) — stories about abortions, unplanned pregnancies and births, from 115 poets — all with stories about their experiences during the last 50 years under Roe v. Wade or before abortion was legal. We did not look for political opinions about the SCOTUS ruling on 6/24/22, but stories from women and men facing choices or lack of choice.
